The emergency services throughout the United States and the world have many similarities. Our first priority is at home for us and for the property we protect. The rising threat of terrorism and hazardous incidents is straining every fire department.
When someones life is on the line we are expected to be proactive, reactive and ready. People expect us to be at the door when a family member is injured or giving their last breath.
Unfortunately, with the rising cutbacks on every level we find ourselves (in a post 911 era) to be more efficient with less.
Who would of guessed that when after the towers fell to the ground we would be facing the issues we are today. Layoffs and training cutbacks are becoming more common. Firefighter job openings are slim to none. Firefighter employment has decreased.
This social network was created for professional firefighter unions and for the emergency worker in hopes that through here we can help each other.
We have safety as our concern, first for us…. then for the citizens.
So enjoy and use this network as a way of exchanging ideas, to save jobs and therefore keep us returning home safely.
